Rainforest World Music Festival 2008

All right! Here is the blog that I wanted to update. Kim Hua just send me the pictures like few minutes ago. Then here I am. Haha!!

I was sent to Kuching and fully sponsored for transportation, food and accommodation. Talk about WOW! But I do not need accommodation =X I'd rather go back to my house and sleep in my bed. ~____~ which i did and yeah I should not complain. I should be lucky la.. Only Kim Hua and I were selected. As I have said in my previous blog, we are Kuching lang that's why chosen.

The health campaign was from 10th-12th of July same as the Rainforest thing which was held in the cultural village.

This was our stall which is as u can see called Body Tune Station. Obviously besides doing the health campaign we also took the opportunity to promote our Uni. That time Lim Kok Wing Uni also there. Their station are doing the tattoo painting which was really amazing. I wanted to get one, but i was in uniform the whole time. If my professor saw me doing that, I will sei for (die). LoL.

Anyways, this is my pass and yeah I was known as Chin Ching. T______________T
They did it wrongly but what the heck, still my name.

The weather overall 3 days was damn hot but on the 1st night was raining as mentioned in Kenny Sia's blog. But we were only there from 10am-5pm. Did not stay for the main event. Ya ya.. I was like the stupidest person on earth. The ticket cost RM90 and i was given a chance to go and was free somemore. Those people that wanted to and knew about it will murder me. Oh well... bo bien.. ~____~ i too long did not go home ma.. I wanted to spend more time with my family. They mean everything to me ah..

Ok back to the health campaign, our stations got 3 kinds of check up. There is blood pressure checking, glucose monitoring and checking body fat (BMI).

I was doing the blood pressure checking most of the time while Kim Hua was doing the glucose monitoring. There are others that are helping us too they are Jee Hsiung, Juliet, Salleh and Cheryl. Thanked god have them =) Another thing about this campaign also i get to meet new friends and people. And also communication to the public. After checking their blood pressure must give health education.

On the 1st day of the campaign was not quite disappointing, but VERY disappointing. That time was cause we actually charged for the check up. Don't ask me, ask my uni. We just do what we were told =/

But then the next day, was better. Many people came because it was free in the end. Was great. =)

Our neighbours selling crafts also help us to promote our stall. THANKS SO MUCH and also came to do check up =D

The lady gave us all these beautiful butterfly rings because of our service. THANK YOU THANK YOU =) she made it for us on the spot =D

Ok overall for the 3 days we have a total of 106 people that came to do health check up. Well our target was higher but we all enjoyed ourselves. =)

I guess the mistake there was, the location lah. People go there to enjoy music not to know their health. Later they can't enjoy the music knowing their blood pressure was abnormal. Probably due to the tuak (rice wine) they drank. Phew! But it will still freak them out.

Ok enough about the health screening. Now a bit of the cultural village.

I think this stall is temporary in conjunction with the musical rainforest. I was delighted to see there is a korean stall selling korean things. I love this picture. Haha. The korean girl is pretty =D When she saw us wearing in white. The first thing she said to us was in her korean accent : You are nurses? I want to take picture with you too! Hahahahaha.. she so cute. She say she like our uniform while i like her Ham Bok ( korean traditional clothing)

Since I did not go the main event, I still managed to listen to some music at their workshop. It was really really GOOD. This group are from south Africa. I only got this picture because i missed the others. Oh well. At least i did listen to something. Hehe. =)

Overall, this trip. I really really enjoy myself lor =)

Nurses Day

Last week on the 10th-11th of July, is well actually not Nurses Day. It is on the 12th of May, and it also it is the birthday of Florence Nightingale. She is the also known as the founder of modern nursing. We celebrate late because, that time we having our clinical.

My friends came out with a lot of ideas to make this year's Nurses Day a good one.

And I think it was a success. Haha =)
I did not participate in helping because I have my own job to do. That afternoon, I have a flight back to Kuching. My uni sponsor my whole trip back home. T_____T because I was......

EXPELLED!!!!!!

NAH!!!! I'm just kidding. Lame joke. LoL.
I was sent back along with Kim Hua because we are both Kuching people and we are going to the Musical Rainforest which was in Cultural Village to do health screening. Talk about lucky. Haha... Will blog about that when i get more pictures from Kim Hua.

Alright back to Nurses Day. I did help to sell some cookies, cakes, yogurt drinks and also mexican salsa for my friends.

A baby was born =)

Today, at hospital my group members and I had a chance to visit the labour room. It was a memorable day. My lecturer said if we are lucky, we can see a mother delivering her child and we did. I always wonder and I'm sure all ladies who are never pregnant wonder how painful is it. Well, after today I appreciate more and I thanked my mother for bringing me to this earth. It was not easy for all mothers to do so. But it is because our mother loves us they are willing to do so =)

There was this Malay lady, she was ready to deliver. That time was 8.45am. The staff nurses were there bringing everything they need for the delivery. The nurse was giving the support to the mother to keep on pushing and pushing. We all can see she i pain. That was her 5th pregnancy and she have 3 child and this was the 4th one. She was still struggling and trying very hard to push. Another staff nurse was helping the mother by pressing her abdomen.

We all can only watch and we are all trying so look for the head of the baby. LoL.

We also give support by saying ALMOST!! PUSH PUSH!! Well not very loud la. wahahaha... Finally we saw the head and then after the head was out the whole body just come out in a second. It happened so fast.

After all the hard work a baby boy was born at 9.41am. =)

Some of us got tears of joy in our eyes and some clapped hands. I did both. LOL *feeling emo*

It was really a happy moment. The nurse wipe the baby and then give to the mother. My lecturer said it was good for skin bonding. Mother and her child. Hehe..

Then next thing that is coming out is her placenta. The nurse just call her to cough cough and while the nurse is pulling the umbilical cord and it was out also. I think the mother will be keeping the placenta. It is their culture to do so.

After that, I was like omg omg saying to myself.. It was a beautiful moment and painful at the same time.

Again I want to say thanks again to my mum and dad too. Haha.. Without you I will not be here.
I love you Mum!! I love you Dad!!

UCSI Digi Fiesta 2008

I'm now having my clinical again. I just had class one week class which was last week. Now my time-table is different. Usually is 4 months in campus and 2 months in hospital. Now is 4 months with clinical and classes. Talk about the time, we had a lot to rush but I guess there is benefit there. Since we just finished our clinical like weeks ago, we still have the skills there. This week is morning shift and posted to another hospital which is Hospital Serdang. I went there when I was in 1st year, 1st sem. Have not been there for almost 2 years liao. Very very big hospital.

Then hor, when coming back from clinical today need to go library with Andrea to renew some books we borrowed. Suddenly, we saw so many people and saw something yellow. Which is Digi. We did not know our campus is having this fiesta. It is from 7/7 till 11/7.

I saw many people holding yellow man on their hands.

Haha... We also saw game booths. Then Andrea and I might as well join in the fun and try to get something =x

Each game needs 3 yellow man. By doing so we just have to fill in our names and spin the wheel to see how many yellow man we can get. It is free and unlimited. Wahahah...

The first game we play is throw the ball into the hole. We tried twice and won. LoL.. we keep coming back to get more yellow man to play more and try more games.

Then also play throw rings to the yellow colored bottle. Haha... Fun fun... and then to the next booth we play.

Haha.. We won goodies =D a note book, clip and a cd holder. Some actually hor,the game quite hard to win but the guy was so good to us. He let us try again few times. Then we get lor. Hahaha... Thanks to him =X

After play finish liao, we saw some cute motorbikes. Andrea wanted to ride on it but i was like so paiseh. LoL. xD

LOL!!! Yeah we are still in our uniforms. But bo bien (no choice) mah. We just back from hospital. LoL.

We had so much fun. We really needed some break and this is it. ^^

Diablo 3

Wahahahhahahaha.... I can't believe there is Diablo 3. The last time I played Diablo was 2001. Wow... and now Diablo 3 is going to be released soon. OMG!! OMG!! I only knew about it when I saw Dennis's Msn message saying : Diablo 3 confirmed to be made. It is said to be released on 7/9/2008.

I was like O.O omg!!! I quickly go google it. Hahahaha! I like playing Diablo and is all thanks to my 2 guy friends that intro me. You know who you are *winks*

I finished playing the 1st and 2nd Diablo. Both of them i used the same one except in Diablo 1 that character is called Rogue while Diablo 2 is Amazon. Damn... I think my mum more excited than me LOL! She playes Diablo also but only Diablo 2 lah. She use Paladin. My brother use Barbarian.

The graphic for Diablo 3 damn nice lar.. Blizzard once again outdid themselves. =) Yay to them!
